Baggett Building
Developed with Sloss Real Estate, this adaptive reuse project transforms the Baggett Building into a mixed-use space designed to support multiple tenants. Making the second floor rentable required a new elevator and secondary stair, both relocated to a central position to resolve level changes and simplify access throughout the building. Underused parking at the front was shifted to the sides, increasing efficiency and opening the street frontage for a new green space.
The design takes a minimal, subtractive approach: a path cut through the building creates a breezeway connecting both sides and revealing a hidden interior courtyard, while the former loading dock is activated as usable tenant space.
